Unit Assignment
For this assignment you will be given little guidance other than what appears below. This is your anchor assignment. You will do ALL of the cooperative elements in class. Research, though can be done outside of class. Communicating with each of your group's members outside of class is encouraged, but face to face meetings are not essential as you will always be given class time to complete this.
  • Purpose: To learn about an important geographical issue in East Asia within the parameters given by the teacher (see below), and then to offer a plausible way to address (not necessarily solve, i.e. inclement weather cannot be solved, but can be prepared for).
  • Method: Research to find what is a pressing issue as limited by the parameter given to the group. Then, after finding out as much as possible about the issue (at least five different sources of information) you must outline a method of dealing with the issue you have found.

      • Images (pictures, diagrams, charts and graphs that you produce {not something cut and pasted})
      • Citations (MLA format) be sure to indicate within your writing when you borrow an idea or a direct quote.
      • Length of essay (excluding citations and index): 1,200 - 1,500 words.
